Why Point Of Sale Software Works

Using a pos software system at your retail store can be a real eye opener, but isn’t without its issues. Trying to get the thing installed can be a pain, of course, especially among technical, accounting, and operations staff. Each inventory item must be uniquely identified, counted, costed, and entered into the system as you switch over, and you must be scrupulous about tracking inventory received and sales.AccuPOS point of sale provides point-of-sale data-capture, inventory- management, and accounts-receivable capabilities for single or multiuser environments. If your computers are not networked, or they’re at more than one location, AccuPOS point of sale can integrate data from stand-alone machines into a central database. Pos software

AccuPOS point of sale supports electronic cash drawers, bar-code readers, credit card readers, and receipt or invoice printers; less comprehensive and less expensive versions of AccuPOS point of sale are also available. The Sales Point module is straightforward and easy to use. It provides numerous payment options, and it handles rentals as well as sales. It also makes returns, back orders, and cash payouts simple. It can produce an almost endless variety of sales reports (by item, by salesperson, by vendor, by date, and so on), as well as end-of-day cash-reconciliation worksheets. In-house charges post to the Accounts Receivable (A/R) module, which tracks payments on account, assesses interest charges, and generates customer statements and aging reports.

Though the A/R module doesn’t have lots of bells and whistles, it performs all the basic A/R functions adequately. The Inventory Analyzer module is AccuPOS point of sale’s greatest strength. The system tracks inventory items and suppliers, and generates purchase orders, receiving reports, and a wide array of inventory-management reports. A variety of pricing methods are available, including add-on amounts, percentage of cost, margin percentage, and custom formula. You can set up to seven prices for each item. AccuPOS point of sale is not a complete accounting package, but you can integrate its data into other accounting systems, including MultiLedger and Connected, using AccuPOS point of sale’s export facility or a separate module called Accounting Interface Module (single-user $95, multiuser $135). AccuPOS point of sale’s installation manual is good, but its user manual is not. Though AccuPOS point of sale’s interface is logical and easy to use, the system is complex, and its weak documentation can be frustrating. Overall, AccuPOS point of sale is an easy-to-use, comprehensive point-of-sale system from which you can derive valuable information. There are few point-of-sale needs that it can’t meet.
